The medical brigades from the United States are promoted by The Luke Society.  They are intended to help people who are in need of surgical assistance but for various reasons do not have access to the appropriate surgical resources. The services provided by the United State's medical brigades are completely free.  However, patients may be asked to contribute according to their means to help cover medical supplies and local running costs. 

Patients are eligible to be seen only if they have been identified by the Clinica San Lucas prior to the dates of the brigade.
